It’s still raining off and on here, but in between showers, I managed to mow half the backyard yesterday, and snap a few pics. There are some mysteries popping up in the new herb bed…

Are these sprouts lettuce, or weeds? I tossed a pack of mixed lettuce seeds in this area before the rains started, so I’m thinking mostly lettuce, but who knows…

Are these sprouts arugula, or weeds? I tossed a pack of arugula seeds in this area, but the sprouts look just like the weeds popping up in the tomato bed.

No mystery here—the little squiggles in the dirt just above the chive plant are more chives. At least they look long and skinny, rather than leaf-like.

No action yet from the cilantro seeds.

Another oddity: ants aren’t supposed to like mint. Why are they partying in the mint pots? Both pots have lots of ants marching through them.
